Our School Day

Our day begins at 8.00 a.m.

Some of our children arrive at school at 8.00 a.m. and enjoy a healthy breakfast followed by fun activities with friends.  Please contact the School Office for more information about Breakfast Club.

The school grounds are open from 8.45am for parents and children to arrive.  Mrs Emberson and one of the duty teachers will supervise the children from this time.

We want to make sure that we start teaching on time at 9.00am. It takes a few minutes to get the children into class and we ask parents to ensure that their children arrive in the playground by 8.50am, when the school bell will be rung.

If your child arrives after 9:00am, you will need to go to the school office with them to sign them in.

Assembly is at 10.10 a.m. Monday to Thursday.  The children will participate in collective worship daily.  On Friday at 3.00 p.m. the whole school shares a celebration assembly, where we find out who the Stars of the Week are, which class has earned the most Pasta Points, which children have earnt a Gold Certificate and who has won the PTA Cake Raffle.  Every term, the children invite their parents to see their Class Assembly, a sharing of excellent learning experiences!

The children have opportunities for free play during the school day.  Our morning break is at 10.15 a.m., the children have another half an hour at lunchtime and then KS1 have an afternoon break at 2.30 p.m. KS2 have a brain break during the afternoon.

We have excellent play facilities and beautiful grounds for the children to explore.  The PTA bought a tyre park for the children to enjoy.  The trim trail provides hours of challenging fun too.  Our Play Leaders organise games for the children to play, using equipment from the green boxes!

Lunchtime is organised into two sittings from 12.00 p.m. to 1.00 p.m.  The children eat their lunch in the School Hall supervised by our Midday Meals Supervisors.  Many of our children eat a hot lunch provided by Chartwells.  Please ask at the School Office for information about how to book a hot lunch for your child.

Our day finishes at 3.30 p.m.

Children leave their class at 3.30 p.m. We ask that parents are in the playground by 3.30pm to collect their child(ren). If a child is being collected by someone else, we ask that parents notify the school beforehand.  The children collect their belongings, leaving their classroom and their cloakroom tidy, and then leave the building.

Mrs Emberson, the Headteacher, is usually available before and after school on the playground.  Alternatively make an appointment at the School Office 01403 700280.

Should you wish to speak to a member of staff, we would prefer it if parents see them at the end of the school day.  Urgent messages may be left at the School Office.

After School Clubs

We have excellent extra curricular provision at Wisborough Green Primary School.  Clubs range from sports to art and craft and from singing to homework!  Clubs start at 3.30 p.m. and finish at 4.30 p.m.  Children can choose which club they would like to attend each term.  Most of our clubs are provided by school staff and are free of charge.  External providers charge a nominal amount and places can be booked at the School Office.
