Jubilee Day

In This Section

We held our very own Jubilee Day to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. As well as dressing in the colours of the Union Jack, we learnt a range of dances from across the last seven decades, including the hand jive, waltz, disco and breakdancing. In order to see a little of what it must be like to be part of the Royal Family, we walked down the red carpet, sat on the throne and dressed up as a royal. We also had a tour of the village in a very impressive horse-drawn carriage, practising our royal wave. After a turn on the bouncy castles and slides, a photographic history of the Queen's reign and an opportunity to enter our 'British Art' competition, we sang 'Our Queen' for our parents in the playground. Feedback included, "They were ALL my favourite", "I wish it could be Jubilee Day every day" and "School is even better than home!"
