Year 5: Rowan

The children had a fantastic time at Lodge Hill! Activities included ziplining, abseiling and tunnelling. Despite the bad weather, Year 5 all gave each activity their best shot and pushed themselves. It was lovely to see them working as a team and was a wonderful end to a busy Spring term!

Rowan Class celebrated their Spring topic with a fabulous Mexico Day, preparing and tasting Mexican food and performing their own dances inspired by the Mexican Hat Dance for parents on the playground.

Year 5 and Year 6 enjoyed a really informative session from Little Lifesavers and learned the introductory stages of lifesaving, including how to put someone in the recovery position safely.

Science Week

This term each class took part in Science Week, focussing on a range of skills to help them 'be a scientist'. These included:

  • Observing
  • Identifying and discussing patterns
  • Grouping, identifying and classifying
  • Research and presenting.

We have also made a video of some of the scientific activities that took place outdoors at Forest School. Please check out the Forest School tab to see more.
